Overview
Jostle generates a Weekly Digest email newsletter for each User. This helps loop users "stuck in email" back into the platform. The Digest content is intelligently determined per User based on things like what they have viewed and where they are located.

How Digest works with News and Library
Each News and Library Item mentioned includes an enticing JostleAI-generated summary.
Featuring a News Item puts it at the top of everyone's Digest
When the Digest is generated, it will include any Featured News Items that were published after the last Digest was sent, are currently Published and Featured, and are visible to the email receiver.
Recommending a new Library Item will include it in everyone's Digest
When the Digest is generated, it will include any Library Items that were added after the last Digest was sent, are Recommended, and are visible to the email receiver.
Notes:
- If the Library Item has a Description, that will be used in place of the JostleAI-generated summary.
- Only Library Items that have at least 300 characters of text are included. Videos, audio files, and images are not.
- When News or Library are set to Staging by a System Admin in Admin Settings > Views and Functions > Manage Views and Options, they will not show up within the Weekly Digest email.
- When 'Summarize items in JostleTV and Weekly Digest email' is Disabled by a System Admin in Admin Settings > Views and Functions > Manage AI Features, JostleAI-generated summaries will not be used.
- When a JostleAI summary is not available for a News Item, its topmost text will be used instead.
How the JostleAI summaries work
JostleAI generates summaries that:
- Summarize the Item
- Provide a reason why the User might want to open the Item
- Match the tone of the Item
- Retain your company lingo
- Exclude information that is likely to be sensitive
- Are in the language first used in the Item
Of course, AI is never perfect, it is limited to the information available, and by the length of the summary itself. JostleAI keeps your information secure and never uses it for training.
