How to use the mobile app in Jostle

Overview

Jostle's mobile app allows you to seamlessly connect to your organization while you are away from the office, putting the ability to connect with team members, view documents, read the latest company news, post web articles, and more right in the palm of your hand.

Note: Jostle’s mobile app can only be used by someone whose account is already activated. It cannot be used by anyone to log into Jostle for the first time and set up their account.  They will need to complete registration through their browser first, as explained here.

App download

The Jostle mobile app can be installed on iOS and Android devices.

To get the iOS mobile app

  1. On your iOS phone, open the App Store
  2. Select Search and enter Jostle
  3. On the Jostle app page, click Get
  • Required OS to install: iOS 14
  • Official Support: iOS 15.0 or later

Note: There is a separate iOS app for iPad. Details here.

To get the Android mobile app

  1. On your Android device, open the Play Store
  2. In the Search field, enter Jostle
  3. On the Jostle app page, click Install
  • Required OS to install: Android 13
  • Official Support: Android 14.0 or later

App maintenance

If you notice your app isn't performing as it usually does, it may be a sign that you need to clear its cache on your device or need to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Clearing your cache on an Android device

  1. Open Settings and select Storage
  2. From the list, tap the Apps entry
  3. Locate and tap on the Jostle app
  4. On the app's info page, tap Clear Cache 

Uninstalling the app on an Android device

  1. First follow the 4 steps above to clear your cache
  2. Tap Clear Data and then OK
  3. Exit Settings and go to your Jostle app icon
  4. Tap and hold on the Jostle app icon
  5. On the popup screen, click Uninstall and then OK

To reinstall the app, follow the steps in the above App download section.

iOS

iOS doesn't have the option to clear an app's cache, so you will have to uninstall the Jostle app and then reinstall it instead.

  1. Tap and hold the Jostle app icon
  2. From the options that appear, select Remove app
  3. On the next screen, select Delete App
  4. On the screen after that, select Delete

To reinstall the app, follow the steps in the above App download section.

File repository integrations

OneDrive

For iOS and Android devices that have it installed and enabled, users can opt to upload files from Microsoft OneDrive when they:

  • When posting an Update or Shout-Out in Activity, click on Media
  • When posting to a Discussion,tap the paper clip icon

iCloud

Users with iOS devices also have the ability to upload files from iCloud into a Discussion (also via the paper clip icon).
