Introduction
Activity is the feed that shows alongside News. It's where users can post Updates to capture the moment-to-moment happenings in your organization or post Shout-Outs to recognize their peers.
News Editors manage Activity and are able to delete posts, set an allow list for who can post, and can export Activity's content, as detailed below. And with help from a System Admin, you can set up automated posting via API or Zapier.
Delete Activity Posts
To Delete an Activity Post, simply click on the X to right in the Post. Author of Activity Posts can delete their own Updates. News Editors can delete any Activity Post.
Manage who can post to the Activity feed
By default, everyone (all Users) can post to Activity. However, News Editor can set it so only certain Users have this ability. Normally that works well, even in larger organizations, because Users understand that what they post is seen by everyone.
However, in some organizations it makes sense to restrict who can post to the Activity feed. To set an Activity Allow List:
1. Click on the Action Menu (three dots) at the top of the Activity feed.
2. Select Set Who can Post Updates.
3. On the modal that appears, select Custom Group.
4. Then use the List Selector to add individuals to your Allow List and click Save when you're done.
Exporting your Activity feed
News Editors (and System Admins) can export the Activity feed content into a .CSV file for analysis and record keeping. This is particularly useful for analyzing who gave and received Shout-Outs, so that you can provide extra recognition, where warranted.
Here's how:
Click on the Action Menu (three dots) at the top of Activity
Select Export Activity Feed
Input your date range and click Export to .CSV File. This will download a .CSV file with full details of all Updates and Shout-Outs
