How to ask a question in Jostle

Overview

Ask a Question is an AI-powered search tool designed to help you find information quickly. It unlocks your organization’s knowledgebase by retrieving answers from your internal Library (guidelines, manuals, procedures) as well as Jostle’s Support Center (product help and tutorials).

Simply type your question, and JostleAI finds the answer you’re looking for. AI-generated answers include citations to the documents, files, or articles used to create the response, allowing you to go straight to the source. You can even ask follow-up questions to learn more.

Tip: Tell our AI exactly what you want. Your question can be detailed and include criteria or a description of how you would like the answer to be formatted. If your question includes a common term that may exist in both your internal Library and the Support Center, be more specific or specify the source you are looking for to get the most relevant answer.

Where answers come from

Ask a Question generates answers from:

  • Your organization’s Library items that you have access to
  • Jostle’s Support Center articles

Each AI answer includes:

  • The items used to generate the answer.
  • Links directly to the source content. Click on the link to open the original item.
  • Actions to “Copy” the answer, and a “thumbs-up” or “thumbs-down” to give feedback on the answer.

Starting your search

To begin an AI search:

  1. Click on Search in the Main Nav Panel
  2. Click the Ask a Question tab
  3. Type your question
  4. Press Enter or click the blue send icon
  5. A panel will appear with your AI-generated answer

Giving feedback on answers

Each AI-generated response includes a thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon. Your feedback helps improve future answers and ensures that the most useful information is being shared.

  • Use the thumbs-up if the answer was helpful
  • Use the thumbs-down if the answer was wrong, unclear, or missing information

To ask a follow up question:

  1. Type your question into the input at the bottom of the screen
  2. Press Enter or click the blue send icon
  3. You’ll see the new AI-generated answer appear below the previous questions and answers
