Accessing Jostle

When it comes to accessing your Jostle platform from your desktop, there are a few options:

  • Add Jostle as a bookmark in your browser
  • Make the Jostle login page your browser’s home page
  • Create a desktop shortcut
  • Pin a Jostle shortcut to your taskbar
  • Set a Jostle shortcut to automatically open when you start up your computer

For the purposes of this article, the examples we’ll be using are for Chrome/Windows 10 however, the equivalent of these methods should work for any of our supported browsers/operating systems.

Add Jostle as a bookmark in your browser

While on the Jostle login page:

Open your browser menu and go to Bookmarks > Bookmark this page

Alternatively: Go into Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager > Add Bookmark and copy/paste in the login URL (which can be found in your Welcome email).

Note: If your company has a subdomain set make sure you're bookmarking the subdomain (e.g. platform.jostle.us)

Make the Jostle login page your browser’s home page

Open your browser menu and go to  Settings > Appearance > Show home button and add the login URL as a home page or as a new tab.

Create a desktop shortcut

While on the Jostle login page:

Open your browser menu and go to More tools > Create shortcut...

This will add a shortcut icon to your desktop:

NOTE—when creating the shortcut, you’ll have the option to create it as a window:

If you choose to do this, then whenever you click on your shortcut icon, Jostle will be opened in a separate window in your computer (instead of a browser tab) and will also appear in your taskbar as the Jostle icon instead of the browser icon.

Pin a Jostle shortcut to your taskbar

After creating a browser/window shortcut:

Right click on your desktop icon/window icon and select Pin to taskbar

After creating a browser/window shortcut:

In the command field, enter shell:startup and then click OK

This will open the Startup folder (Microsoft> Windows > Start Menu > Programs > Startup). Copy your shortcut and paste it into the folder.

For older versions of Windows, you can manually get here by via Start > All Programs > Startup

NOTEif you ever want Jostle to stop launching with your computer, then just head back to the Startup folder and delete the shortcut.
