How to create repeating events
In addition to creating one-time Events, Event Managers and Event Creators can also create events that recur at set intervals. While creating your event, go to Repeat event and check "Yes" to enable this feature. From there, follow the steps below to create a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly Event.
NOTES
- Repeat events can only be scheduled for up to a year after the event Start Date.
- Header images are the only images supported in repeated events. Any images embedded in the Body field will not appear when the repeated Events are published.
Creating events that repeat daily
- On the Repeat drop down menu, select "Daily"
- On the Every drop down menu, select your repeat frequency (anywhere from every 1-30 days)
- In the From and To fields, enter the hours of your event
- Use the Repeat starting and End after fields to select the dates for the initial and final events
- Complete your event setup and publish it in the normal manner
Creating events that repeat weekly
- On the Repeat drop down menu, select "Weekly"
- On the Every drop down menu, select your repeat frequency (anywhere from every 1-30 weeks)
- For Repeat on, check the box next to the day of the week you want your weekly event to run (Sun-Sat)
- In the From and To fields, enter the hours of your event
- Use the Repeat starting and End after fields to select the dates for the initial and final events
- Complete your event setup and publish it in the normal manner
NOTE—the Repeat starting date does not need to be on the same day of the week that you selected for Repeat on. For example, you can choose to have your event start on Wednesday, August 8, and then have it Repeat on every Tuesday going forward.
Creating events that repeat monthly
- On the Repeat drop down menu, select "Monthly"
- In the First instance field, select the date of your initial event
- On the Every drop down menu, select your repeat frequency (anywhere from every 1-12 months)
- For Repeat On, indicate if you’d rather have the event repeat each month on the same date (eg. “the 7th of every month”) or on the same day (eg. “the first Tuesday of every month”) as the First instance
- In the From and To fields, enter the hours of your event
- Use the End after field to select the date for the last repeated event
- Complete your event setup and publish it in the normal manner
NOTE—technically, you can also create a Yearly Event by selecting a Monthly Event to run every 12 months. However, due to the one-year scheduling limit, your event will only be repeated once after it’s initial date, and then will have to be recreated and rescheduled.
