How to republish webpages as News in Jostle

Purpose

Web Articles let you republish a public webpage directly into News—perfect for sharing industry updates, blog posts, and more. Paired with the Social Sharing feature, they make it simple for users to share content with their networks and amplify your brand with just one click.

How to create a Web Article

News Editors and News Reporter can create Web Articles.

To start creating a Web Article, tap on the + menu in News and select Web Article.

Then paste the website URL into the alert window and select Continue.

The content from the website URL will be added to a draft News Item with attribution and a link back to the original source. From here, simply select a News Category and then click the Publish button.

How to enable Social Sharing Metrics

Social Sharing is default on when News Editors or News Reporters create a new Web Article. This makes it easy for users viewing the Item to share the same content into their personal Facebook, X, or LinkedIn accounts.

News Editors or Authors can turn Social Sharing off (or back on again) by:

  1. Opening the Web Article in the editor
  2. Hover over the embedded content
  3. Click on the three dots top right of that Block
  4. Select Disable Social Media Sharing

Editing Web Articles

Content imported via a Web Article cannot be edited, but you can add Blocks above and below it to provide any context or followup you need.

Social Sharing metrics

Once published, those with editing rights (Author and News Editors) can download the Social Sharing metrics, which show who shared a particular Web Article while viewing it.

To access these metrics, News Editors and Authors open the item in News and click Download Social Sharing Metrics.

Use these insights to recognize—or even reward—those who help amplify your messages through their networks.

News Editors can also download a full report of Social Sharing metrics across all published Web Articles. To download this report:

  1. Click News in the main navigation
  2. Open the Action Menu in the top right corner
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Download Web Article Sharing Metrics
  4. Select a date range

These metrics show who shared what, when they shared it, and include metadata like location, department, and more.
