Managing Digest

Your organization's platform Digest can be set up to be delivered on any day and time of the week. To set this, go to the Administration Settings > Views and Functions > Manage Digest Email.

If you would rather disable sending the Digest for your whole organization, then uncheck the option “Send Digest...”.

If "Send Digest..." is checked off, then users can opt not to receive them by unchecking the Digest option in the Email Settings section of their My Preferences. If you have branded your platform with a unique name, it will be reflected on the name of the Digest in this section as well (as shown below).

NOTE—when the News view is set to "Staging" in Administration Settings > Views and Functions > Manage Views and Options, News Articles will not show up within the Digest email.

I'd love to be able to customize the weekly digest email further to include things like new additions to the Library. Any more recent discussion about this topic?

    Hi Harmony,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

We don't think it's a sustainable idea to facilitate customization of the Digest. Sounds like you would do a good job of this, but the vast majority of folks would not. The fact that Digest auto generates in a user relevant way is key.

But we should indeed do a better job of featuring Library items in the Digest. You might want to suggest that in our feature request forum. https://forum.jostle.us/hc/en-us/community/topics

Is there a way to do a test send of the digest email to myself as the admin? I have not used this feature before but am curious about it, but don't want to suddenly send to all staff without seeing it first.

Each user can turn this on and off at (three dots to the right of your name on the main nav panel) > My Preferences > Email settings > Receive emails.

The email digest is automatically generated and is customized per person according to what they’ve read, where they are located, etc.

So most likely your people are already seeing the Digest. To see it yourself, go to My Preferences and turn it on.

Having the ability to customize some of the items featured in the digest would be VERY useful. Jostle should consider this moving forward

    Hi Nichelle,

We actually have a Requests forum where you can submit your suggestions or ideas for new features as well as vote on suggestions posted by others.

If you would like to submit your Digest suggestion, just click the white circle icon at the bottom of the Main Navigation and then select "Suggest an improvement".
