How to clear cookies and cache


The following instructions show how to clear your browser’s cookies and cache. This may be useful for troubleshooting and fixing log in issues, and other loading problems within Jostle.

Google Chrome

Click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner of your browser window to open the Chrome menu and then scroll down and click on Settings. Then scroll down the Settings and click on 'Advanced'.

Under Privacy and security, click on Content settings. Under Cookies, click on ‘All cookies and site data’ and you will see a full list of all your cookies. Click ‘Remove all’ to clear all your cookies or you can pick Jostle and clear all your cookies from the site.

To clear the cache, click on ‘Clear browsing data’ under Privacy and security and check ‘Cached images and files’ before confirming to ‘Clear browsing data’ at the bottom.

Note—you can also clear cookies from the 'Clear browsing data' screen, but not with the details available on the "All cookies and site data" screen.

 Mozilla Firefox

Click on the menu button () and choose Options, go to the Privacy panel on the left. Under history in the dropdown, set ‘Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history’. Click on ‘Show Cookies…’. You can either search for a specific site for the cookie you want to remove, or ‘Remove All’ cookies at the bottom.

To clear the cache, go to the Advanced panel on the left, then go to Network tab at the top. In the Cached Web Content section, click ‘Clear Now’.

 Internet Explorer

Click on the Tools (gear) icon in the top right (or Alt + X) and go to Internet Options. In the General tab, under Browsing history at the bottom, click ‘Delete…’, check ‘Cookies and website data’ and click ‘Delete’ at the bottom to remove all cookies.

The cache and cookies can also be cleared in Settings > Safety > Delete browsing history (or Ctrl + Shift + Del), check ‘Temporary Internet files and website files’ before clicking Delete


Go to the Safari menu and click on Preferences (or ⌘ + ,), then click on the Privacy tab. If there are any website data/cookies being stored, click Details. You can ‘Remove’ a specific website or ‘Remove All’ at the bottom. Click Done to return to the preferences window.

Alternatively, you can clear all cookies and cache in the Privacy tab by clicking ‘Remove All Website Data’ in the Privacy tab.
