Adding Google users that are outside your Google Workspace domain
If you are using GoogleID logins (Google SSO) that are integrated with your Google Workspace, System Admins can add users that are outside your Google Workspace domain:
- If the additional user's email address is hosted by Google, create a Jostle user with a GoogleID login. This will provide them with SSO access to Jostle with their GoogleID.
- If the additional user's email address is not hosted by Google, create a user that logs in using a Jostle ID.
Notes:
- If the person does not have a Google email, they can sign up for one here. This is particularly useful when Library is Google integrated (see next section).
- Users outside your Google Workspace domain will not sync to/from Jostle via our Google integrations.
Using a Google-integrated Library with users outside your Google Workspace domain
With a Google-integrated Library, all users will be able to view files in the Jostle Viewer. But only users with a Jostle Username that is a Google-hosted email address will be able to view items that open in the Google Viewer (Google Doc, Slides, etc. that are items in a Library Volume).
If you have a user that is unable to view Google Docs because they are logged into Jostle with a non-Google email, they can associate their existing email with a Google email by signing up for a Google Account here and entering the email they are already using in Jostle.
Users that are using a Google-associated email to log into Jostle via a JostleID need to be signed into Google to use the Google Viewer. If that user's email address is not signed into Google, they will be asked to when they go to view a Google Doc in Library.
