Purpose
Events view is designed to bring organizational awareness to company and team events. It's secret sauce is the ability to make everyone aware of a team event (such as an off site workshop), without having it clutter and block the calendars of those not attending. It's also great at organizing company-wide events, partly thanks to its built-in RSVP functionality. And its the perfect place to document statutory holidays.
Events view is not intended to replace Outlook or Google Calendar. It's not the right place to book a 1:1 meeting with a team member. However, it's easy to get what you see in Events view into with your personal and work calendars.
Viewing Events
To check out all the individual Events visible to you, click Events on the Main Navigation panel. Here you’ll find an at-a-glance monthly overview alongside a more detailed, chronological scrolling list.
To view the details of a particular Event, click on it in the list. This will reveal all its details, including time and location. While viewing a particular Event you can:
- Learn all about the Event
- Like it
- Add a Comment (you can @mention people here)
- Add it to your personal calendar (click Add to Calendar"; detailed instructions here here)
If RSVP is turned on, you can:
- See who's going (click Going)
- Set your own RSVP, if you are invited
Types of events
There are three types of Events in Events view:
- Everyone's invited—these are company wide events
- Private—you have been invited
- FYI—you are not invited, but the organizers would like you to be aware of this event
